Spot the difference

Todays topic is one of much speculation...

The difference between the humble paddle pop stick and the "Streets" Magnum stick.

A quote from the Unilever website (the company that owns Streets, as well as others) states:
Did you know?
Launched in 1989, Magnum ice cream was the first ice cream on a stick especially for adults. Today, Magnum is one of the world's leading impulse ice cream brands, selling around 1 billion units a year. Recent successes include Magnum Intense, Magnum 7 Deadly Sins, and Magnum Moments.

But before the Magnum.. where did the popsicle stick come from?

  • 1905, 11 year old Frank Epperson left his soda out on the porch, which contained a stir stick. It then froze to the stir stick creating a fruit flavored ice treat named the epsicle. He then waited 18 years for it to be released to the public.
  • 1922, the ice-lollipop was introduced to the public for the first time.
  • 1923, Frank Epperson applied for a patent for "frozen ice on a stick" called the Epsicle ice pop, which he re-named the Popsicle, allegedly at the instigation of his children. It was originally available in seven flavors.
  • 1925, Epperson sold the Popsicle to the Joe Lowe Company of New York. Good Humor, a subsidiary of Unilever, now owns the rights.

SO, with all that in tow, they made the Magnum stick wider for Adults? Is it because we have bigger hands? or want something with more substance to hold onto? This I am going to have to look into further, perhaps the ice block manufacturers will get back to me soon with the answer. BUT, whatever the reply, we do know one thing for sure... It is much easier to clean your ears with a normal ice block stick than a Magnum one.

Well bugger me...

Are these two people HOT or what? What is the world coming too....

Bringing people together

I think what this world needs is a good old fasioned Alien Invasion... Might sound a little extreme, but at least we would forget our differences and all focus on the one thing for a change...

You know what?

I would have to say its been a while now. A while since I had love in my life.
But on reflection, i havn't really gone without it, I mean, there are other things that I love...

I can say I love dance music. This has become more aparent of late with the removal of TV from my life. I have been an avid listner of RAW FM in the past few months and have loved every second of it.

My love for technology. This is a big one. For quite a while i had just sat back and watched it go past at a great rate of knots. But with all this spare time I have found myself in search for more of the cutting edge, more of the "might be", and most definitly more of the "WOW" factor when it comes to gadgets, gizmos and all things geeky. I am a regular viewer of SlashDot. A website devoted to all things geeky and up to date.

I have moved to Noosa Heads, on the Sunshine Coast north of Brisbane, and with this came the ability to go to the beach more.. Well, when i say more, I mean ACTUALLY go, haha. This has brought with it my love of the water. I have body boarded ever since i could remember and absolutley love it. This im sure i'll keep doing for many years. I see ti as the lazy mans surfing, I dont have to stand up, which is what i do all day, so its a good change.

One thing that I can say I have been doing quite a lot of is downloading stuff... Music, Movies, podcasts, tech info, random clipits and all sorts of stuff. Its just amazing what you can find out there and I love the ability to have it at the tips of my fingers.

I LOVE THIS GUY!! <--- click the link (duh)

But, above all, I do miss the love of someone else... It does get lonely up here alone... I hope it changes soon.
